2014 – What do you think of it so far?

By January 29, 2014Leadership

As we reach the end of January, it is amazing to think that one month of 2014 is already gone. With our full lives time can so easily whizz by!

2014Our time is precious and, when we have the demands of work, family, friends – along with tasks like tax returns, fixing central heating, renewing insurance, and so on – it is all to easy for plans and ideas formed at the start of the year to fall by the wayside as ‘real life’ takes over.

But we know that we will regret it if we don’t keep our purpose and direction through the year; to work towards those ideas and dreams that we know we can acheive. We must lead ourselves first before we can lead others.

So, while the year is still ahead of us and is still full of opportunity, we invite you to reflect on your plans and choices for 2014 and help you spend it with positivity and purpose using the MRD Leadership model: the How, Why, What, and You of leadership.

MRD Leadership Model

• What is your personal vision and goals for 2014? New Year’s resolutions are not enough 😉
• Do you know your boss’s strategic vision? What about your customers’?
• Will you be able to act with courage when things get tough?

• What will you do to engage people in your vision and plans?
• How will you improve your coaching style and delegation skills this year?
• What can you do to promote team work and collaboration around you?

• Have you reminded yourself of the com-pany’s values recently?
• Is what you are doing this year aligned with what is really important to you?
• Who will you need to be appreciative of in your work/life this year?

• When do you last read your Insights Dis-covery profile? Take time for a quick re-view!
• What are you doing to build on strengths and control weaknesses?
• What will you do to look after yourself this year?

Use these questions to help get you going in the right direction and on track for a prosperous, successful and healthy 2014.

From Marcus and Richard have another great year leading yourself and others!
