The Team

The core team of Marcus and Richard formed MRD in 2003 using over 20 years of coaching, training and business development experience.


Our desire is to deliver powerful and innovative, yet practical and focused development services to our clients.



We are a family business based in both Hertfordshire and North Yorkshire.We work with large clients such as Hays Plc, NHS and Merck Pharmaceuticals, and a number of small to medium businesses.


The team also includes Keeley Smith (marketing and programme design) and several other trainers, coaches and consultants who work with so our clients can benefit a wider diversity of style, experience and expertise.



Richard Hoyle

Sandhurst trained, he completed a successful career as a Major in the Royal Signals. Following the army, he was Senior Manager with a Canon (office equipment) with experience of building successful direct and indirect sales teams within a highly competitive market. Richard then spent 9 years as senior manager and consultant with Insights Learning and Development, and also developed their extensive international network.

Richard’s practical approach is supported by his continuous study into psychology, stress, leadership and business development.



Marcus Hoyle

Having worked in banking for 4 years, Marcus retrained and had a successful career teaching English as a foreign language to adults, specialising in Business Communication. Since settling back in the UK Marcus has worked with clients with a variety of clients such as the Merck Pharmaceuticals, Henkel, DB Schenker, Marks & Spencer, and Unilever as well as smaller organisations such as SICK (UK) Ltd in the areas of team work, leadership and coaching skills.

He draws on his experience and training, NLP, and understanding of self and others through Jungian Typology. He brings a relaxed and easy manner to professional agendas, encouraging creativity and free thinking while maintaining an underlying practical perspective.
